adidas Moscrop 2 SPZL Ash Grey

Renowned designer and father of the adidas SPEZIAL line, Gary Aspden, revisits the archives and masterfully curates seven silhouettes for the adidas SPZL A/W ‘23 capsule. Consisting of underground models and hybrid trainers, Aspden fine-tunes the collection to pay homage to outdoor explorations, whether that's on the trail or pavement. The adidas Moscrop 2 SPZL “Grey Green” is the revised version of the vintage-inspired Moscrop trainer from the Pre-Spring 2022 SPZL collection, updated with enhanced cushioning while maintaining its rugged and winterised make-up.

Gary Aspden took design cues from the old-school adidas Raider trekking shoe to inform the adidas Moscrop 2’s lightweight upper, incorporating upgraded materials to meet the modern-day standard. This iteration flaunts a greyscale durable Cordura nylon base, reinforced with grey suede overlays encompassing the mudguard, heel, eyestays, and the signature profile serrated 3-Stripes on the sides. A Cordura tab sits on the lateral panel, ensuring the Moscrop 2 SPZL is rugged and ready. The adidas Spezial label on the tongue along with a premium leather hang-tag make it obvious that these aren't any ordinary pair of 3-Stripes trainers. The chunky tooling across the sole originated from the archival Argentinian-made adidas Infinity, a shoe Gary discovered from the legendary adidas footwear trove owned by the late Carlos Ruiz in Buenos Aires (well worth a watch on YouTube if you haven't already). The midsole is made up of two layers, with the upper portion incorporating the infamous Dellinger web which sits atop a black die-cut EVA wedge for well-balanced cushioning and stability. Thick, rugged lugs on the outsole keep you prepped for both the trails and icy paths, making sure the adidas Moscrop 2 is as functional as it is good looking.
