Britain’s Vivienne Westwood has teamed up with Japan’s ASICS once again for the brand new Vivienne Westwood x ASICS Hyper Gel Lyte Colorful Cyan. A collaboration that’s left the industry in awe, this quite literally blurs the line between sneakers and art.
Working on the legendary Hyper Gel Lyte silhouette, the Vivienne Westwood x ASICS Hyper Gel Lyte Colorful Cyan is crafted from a full leather upper and is intricately painted with the works of French artist François Boucher, who was first referenced in the high fashion designer’s 1990 ‘Portrait’ collection.
While other brands have tried to do this in the past, every single stroke can be clearly seen across the upper with no blurriness to be seen whatsoever. The vibrant colours of the ‘Daphnis & Chloe’ are also present, bringing the piece to life.
Orange accents make their way around the shoe for a pop of contrast, while a TPU midsole features down below, infused with ASICS’ iconic GEL technology for comfort that’s beyond compare. To round it all off “GEL LYTE” branding is embossed onto the lateral heel, while Westwood’s legendary orb logo graces the back, finalising the look.
