JJJJound x New Balance 2002R GORE-TEX Charcoal

Canadian brand JJJJound teams up with New Balance yet again, this time setting its eyes on the NB 2002R. Mixing high quality with functionality, this capsule features both the “Pine” and this “Charcoal” edition, two darker colourways perfectly built and suited for the outdoors. The JJJJound x New Balance 2002R GORE-TEX “Charcoal” arrives updated with technical fabrics and all the intricate design details that the Montreal studio is renowned for.

Saunders puts his minimalist mark on the sneaker silhouette with a tonal grey palate punctuated by contrast black and white hits. The upper features a GORE-TEX waterproof membrane, made visible via the small tab poking out from under the ankle collar. This ensures dry feet in wet conditions while allowing breathability during everyday wear. Understated JJJJound branding tags the heel tab and tongue, complementing the darker hues on the sidewall “N” and the midsole below. The technical sole unit comes in a triple black N-durance and ABZORB foam, working alongside a solid rubber outsole promising traction, rounding out a silhouette that brings substance and subtle style for fall and winter wear.

Unlike the more rugged versions of the NB 2002R and NB 610, this collaboration comes laced with a set of flat profile laces instead of the typical 3M rope style. However, packed inside the special edition white lid box is a bungy rope set along with a lace toggle in case you do find yourself venturing out into the wild.
