New Balance has worked with the infamous waterproofing brand GORE-TEX before, making an appearance on a line of trail runners and even the 2002R model. The Boston-based footwear brand is set to hit the shelves with another two colourways after releasing two GORE-TEX-based 2002Rs in the summer of ’22. Keeping your feet dry in New Balance has just been made a whole lot easier thanks to this pair of 2002R GORE-TEX.
This “Wheat” pair is very on-brand for New Balance’s current colour palette, using natural tones to decorate the upper. The gusseted tongue and GORE-TEX lining are the two main ways in which the technology has been integrated to keep out the wet. A “Wheat” brown is predominantly found on the panelling in a rough suede, helping to balance out the darker red brick tones of the mesh. Beige makes its way onto the shoe via the toe box panelling and provides the structure for the underlying mesh. The midsole gets the standard New Balance treatment thanks to the white N-ergy foam and cream ABZORB heel unit, giving you all-day comfort for your weary feet. The “N” can be found on the midsection in its signature grey while the smaller forms of branding adopt red hits, offering that extra pop.
If you’re after a pair of these New Balance 2002R GORE-TEX in this “Wheat” colourway, then make sure you check out The Sole Supplier to find out where you can buy these!
