New Balance 2002R Protection Pack Black Grey

The first Protection Pack gained lots of attention for the retro’d 2002 silhouette from New Balance. The pack’s use of neutral colourways really let the details and quality materials do the talking. I mean, the nappy suede on those were enough to grab any sneakerheads attention.

This time around it’s still much of the same. The material quality is still very present and the shoes shaggy panel cuts, arguably the main talking point, have returned. New Balance has still kept it classy with the colourway, mixing up a deep black with some tonal greys on the shoes upper. We can see traces of the 991 DNA present with the way the midsole seamlessly mixes hits of white and beige. To add some extra flash, there are some 3M details on the brand logos panels both above and below the laces, as well as on the inside near the collar.
