After becoming one of the hottest New Balance releases in 2021, the “Protection Pack” continues with another bundle inspired by utilitarian sneakers. The Boston-based brand retains the uncut panels and jagged lines on the upper to resemble an unfinished product. This time, however, the shoe flaunts heavy-duty ripstop fabrics and a convenient toggle lace setup. The New Balance 2002R “Ripstop Protection Pack Olive” prepares for the colder months as we transition towards the latter half of the year.
This rendition has an olive green ripstop mesh upper construction with jagged suede overlays, a signature “Protection Pack” design element. Grey accents emblazon the N logos on the sides and synthetic leather panels on the forefoot and rear. Leather makes up the tongue, containing yellowish exposed foam on the inner section. The black perforated suede covers the heel counter, while the ABZORB SBS midsole combines two shades of grey to maintain the autumnal makeover. Two-tone toggle laces come in black and white to showcase a trail-ready design approach, easily adjustable anywhere on the field. The black Stability Web rubber outsole provides reliable traction on all surfaces to complete this makeover.
