The New Balance 550 Black Red is one of several brand-new colourways of New Balance’s basketball sneaker that is set to drop to the masses in the next coming weeks. With the Aimé Leon Dore collaboration reviving the OG Basketball Oxford shoe, the retro-style kicks have caught the eye of many sneakerheads over the last few months, and we are certainly looking forward to getting our hands on a pair of these!
The renewal of the NB550 has undeniably deemed itself to be one of the brand's most popular models this year. Leaked images of general release colorways have surfaced online, and it appears that the footwear label has a line-up ready for us in the new year.
A closer look at this pair shows a clean black suede upper with leather red accents coating overlays across the base for a pop of contrast. This includes the sock liner, the model number on the forefront, and the N logo stamped across the medial and lateral side that maintains the old school aesthetic the silhouette is known for.
Underfoot, a crisp white midsole lined with a rubber outsole provides optimal comfort and cushioning for the wearer. Rounding it all of are further branding details on the tongue, insole, and heels.
As for its release details, there is currently no official launch date set for the New Balance 550 Bred. However, what we do know is that the pair will be landing at select retailers with a retail price of £80 attached to them.
