Boston-based Footwear brand New Balance arrives with a tasteful indigo palette with which to bless its 550 silhouette. What may seem like a simple colourway at first, is beautifully disguised with some extra details that truly separate this from the crowd. Playing into the model’s Basketball heritage, the New Balance 550 “Vintage Indigo” looks like they’ve been plucked out of the 80s and landed straight into the hands of your 21st-century sneakerhead.
The upper is cloaked in what appears to be a vintage hue of off white, unlike the standard white we are used to seeing and instead opting for an elegantly aged version instead. The “N” on the leather sidewall has been finished with the basketball texture, further tying the shoe to its sporting roots. The blue-collar also mimics this basketball print, even though it looks like a soft suede at first. The “550” model number beckons in a light blue, this time embossed in a rubberised font with a dark blue outline. The “Vintage Indigo” in the title can be located below on the sole, while on the upper it hides on the tongue’s lining and panel piping that supports the laces.
This colourway truly plays into the silhouette’s retro roots and makes for a great colourway for those who have managed to avoid owning a New Balance 550. For any further information on this drop, follow us over at The Sole Supplier.
