The Boston-based footwear brand has only just released the New Balance 9060 but things are looking promising with the Joe Fresh Goods collaboration having already sold out. The design team at New Balance has seriously upped its game with no shortage of new models hitting the shelves, which works for us sneakerheads as we can be quite picky.
According to the people at New Balance, “the 9060 is a new expression of the refined style and innovation-led design” that have been inspired by the 99X series. We can see traces of the 990 DNA through both the web panelling and large New Balance “N” which closely resembles the branding found on the 990v5. The upper uses a mixture of mesh and pigskin overlays in a beige, giving the shoe all the structure and balance it needs. Following the long trend of animal-inspired soles, such as Reebok’s Atv 19+, the sole on the NB9060 looks like the hoof of a mountain goat with its two back pods providing great heel stability. The shoe’s diamond outsole takes its design language from the NB860, one of the brand’s main running lines, a shoe that has seen a number of iterations and therefore a great shoe to look to for inspiration.
If you’re after trying out New Balance’s 9060 in this “Ivory” colourway then check out The Sole Supplier for details on how to pick these up!
