No stranger to a Nike collaboration, Supreme is back once again with a brand-new release. After delving into the vintage Nike basketball catalogue with the Air Zoom Flight 95 and Air Foamposite in the past, it seems that the NYC-based streetwear label is set to continue this trend as it unveils the Supreme x Nike Air Bakin “Black”.
First launched back in 1997, the Air Bakin was actually recalled shortly after launch due to controversy surrounding the graphic on the heel tab appearing visually similar to the Arabic spelling of “Allah”. Released again in 2007 and 2013 with an altered graphic, the Air Bakin is still a rarely-seen sneaker out in the wild, so this high-profile collaboration should make a welcome change.
Decked out in a black and grey colourway, the Supreme iteration is set to feature Swoosh logos on the collar and midsole, along with a visible Air Max unit under the heel, although we don’t know too much else about the release just yet.
