Nike expands its throwback-inspired “Athletic Department” collection with the addition of this old-school Nike Air Force 1 Low colourway. The pack contains several Nike icons like the Cortez, Air Max 1, Dunk, Air Max 97, and Air Max 90. All pairs in the roster come with yellowish pre-aged aesthetics as a nod to the brand’s sports heritage and establishment in 1972. This Nike Air Force 1 Low “Athletic Department” displays a clean white leather base with blue and sail-white tones to achieve a vintage makeover.
Following the 40th anniversary of the Nike Air Force 1 in 2022, the Oregon-based sportswear giant kept the iconic ‘80s silhouette relevant by releasing multiple colourways and limited-edition styles. This “Athletic Department” pays homage to Nike’s official establishment in 1972 after starting as Blue Ribbon Sports in the ‘60s. The shoe has a white leather construction with unique stitching on the quarter panel. Blue accents adorn the Swooshes, heel, and outsole. Meanwhile, vintage details include the exposed foam on the tongue and the yellowish midsole. Old-school Nike Air branding sits on the heel tab, while the year 1972 appears on the blue sockliner to wrap up this nostalgic rendition.
