Music and sneakers have always had a strong connection, and Nike often looks to honour that in some of its themed offerings. With this in mind, the latest addition to the brand’s Air Force 1 line-up looks to Houston for inspiration and also manages to pay homage to the Houston Rockets at the same time. The Nike Air Force 1 Low H-Town “Black Silver” is set to drop soon, so here’s a closer look at the pair.
Though today's generation will be far more familiar with H-Town's own Travis Scott and Houston Hottie Megan Thee Stallion, the city has always had deep roots within the hip-hop scene. For this pair, Nike has highlighted this by decorating the AF1 with a mixtape motif on the heel, and a shiny CD-like Swoosh. Dressed in a Rockets-style colourway of black, white and red, the pair also takes on a pretty luxurious construction, with velvet uppers, tongues and liners that give way to smooth, leather overlays. If that wasn’t enough, special-edition dubraes call out to the city, and a white and red sole unit rests underfoot.
