In 2021, the Jumpman released a collection titled ‘Next Stop Dongdan’ that celebrated the famous Chinese streetball tournament. Recruiting silhouettes like the Air Jordan 6 Low and even a pair of Jordan Slides, the pack recognised the beautiful sunset that the hosting stadium would experience during the event. Heading back to court for some streetball inspiration is this release of the Air Jordan 5 Low “Dongdam”, which unlike the previous Air Jordan 6 Low, arrives in low-key tooling.
The black suede upper with its white contrast stitching is similar to the make-up used on the Travis Scott Air Jordan 1 Low “Phantom Black” from 2022. Just like on the previous capsule, the AJ5 Low has an embroidered “Xiazhan Dongdan” logo on the heel, with its white finish fitting into the binary motif on the upper. The pink lace lock introduces a dash of colour that is seldom seen on the top portion of the shoe, matching the jagged teeth that decorate the midsole below. Icy accents can be spotted from the shoe’s side profile, although we are still unsure as to whether there will be any multicoloured detailing underfoot as seen on the Air Jordan 6 Low “Dongdan” from 2021.
These Air Jordan 5 Low “Dongdan” are set to drop this summer, so make sure to keep it tuned to The Sole Supplier for any further updates!
