Slawn x Nike Air Max 90 Black Speckle

British-Nigerian artist Olaolu Slawn brings secures his first-ever footwear collaboration with Nike. The collection sees two reworked versions of the iconic Air Max 90, giving Tinker Hatfield’s '90s runner an artist's touch. Using the silhouette as his canvas, the Slawn x Nike Air Max 90 “Black Speckle” embodies his distinct smiling face motif, although more low-key than on projects we have seen before. This stunning AM90 flaunts a blacked-out leather upper with contrasting white speckles scattered throughout the forefoot reminiscent of an artist at work. The wraparound mudguard ushers in a refined look to the silhouette, whilst the metallic silver eyelets and semi-translucent rubber piece on the foxing add flair to the predominantly stealthy palette. White crooked Swooshes decorate the sidewalls, complementing the carved textures on the quarter, collar, and rear. A debossed Nike label embellishes the tongue, whilst the rubberised heel panel displays a unique logo resembling one of Slawn’s artworks. The polyurethane midsole, TPU cassette, and visible Air unit remain true to form to deliver all-day comfort.
