Nike Air Max 90 Flax Wheat

Nike drops another Autumn-ready version of its classic Air Max 90 silhouette. Along with the end of summer, you can always expect the Swoosh to tease a slew of upcoming weatherproof Air Max editions. Whether it’s the Sneakerboot Air Max 95s that soon became a fan favourite or the arrival of the GORE-TEX Air Force 1s in 2020, sneakerheads are eager to see what the brand has cooked up. As this year continues to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop, the Air Max 90 has rocked up in a “Flax Wheat” colourway in order to rival the upcoming wave of 6-Inch Boots. If you’ve never been much of a Boot person yourself, then this AM90 is a perfect alternative for the colder months of the year.

Decked out in a tasteful wheat colourway from heel to toe, this pair looks just as good as the Air Force 1 “Flax Wheat” iteration we’re used to seeing roll around every year. The upper is formed from a soft nubuck on everything from the toe box to the mudguard, making this an easy choice to rock all season long. Below, the midsole details a slight change in tone, opting here for a more muted khaki that creates a complementary divide from the flax shade above. Nike branding remains in its usual positioning yet blends nicely into the background thanks to the largely similar colour palette. You can expect this version to be a little toastier due to the lack of white mesh on the toe box and ankle collar, although given the drop in temperature, we reckon that plays in nicely into the overall theme.
