Here we take a closer look at the Nike Plattenbau Dunk Low Premium Grey. This unique silhouette pulls inspiration from the concrete towers characteristic with cities across Eastern Germany. Somehow, that gloomy theme manages to work surprisingly well across the iconic skateboarding silhouette. Rather than looking drab and dull, the shoe brings some serious heat to the streets. Laser detailing is etched across the entire upper. This is another subtle nod to the architecture of those high-rise flats. It replicates the same monotonous detailing which travels along the cement brickwork.
As you’d expect, everything takes on that tonal shade of grey including the midsole and laces. All the conventional Nike SB Dunk details are retained including the Swoosh along the sidewall and chunky tongue.
To finish this inspired creation, the words ‘Traum’ and ‘Tristesse’ are inscribed on the laces which translates to ‘Dream’ and ‘Sadness’. It’s another homage to life in Berlin and as the wearer tightens the laces, so these words and their meanings become in-twined.
The Nike Plattenbau Dunk Low Premium Grey is scheduled to release on 14th December via the retailers listed.
