Forget the dry January resolutions; the only thing we’re giving up this month is space in our wardrobes. We’ve seen some heavy hitters lately, and the next few weeks are looking to continue on this trend. From archival Jordan grails to high fashion experiments that belong on a runway, we’ve shortlisted the best drops of the month. If you want to get your best chance at grabbing these for retail, hitting the 'Notify me' button is the smartest move you’ll make!
Jordan Brand is digging deep into the archives, nodding to the original fan club that defined 80s basketball culture before MJ even had a ring. The sail leather upper is a stroke of genius. It skips that "straight out of the box" bright white for something that feels like a prized vintage find you’ve hidden in a loft for decades.
The Chicago inspired palette hits all the right notes with black TPU panels and that unmistakable red Jumpman on the tongue. It features the classic plastic netting and support wings that made the AJ4 a legend, all sitting atop a polyurethane midsole. It’s a piece of basketball history that feels remarkably fresh for the new year.
Releasing: 24th January
Nike is taking the "recovery shoe" concept into a scifi dimension with the Mind 001. If you like the experimental energy of the ISPA line, this slide is your new best friend. It features a light grey foam upper that looks like it was grown in a lab rather than made in a factory.
The standout detail is the 12 individual traction pods on the outsole, designed to soothe your feet after a long day of pavement pounding. A chrome mini Swoosh adds a bit of metallic grit to the textile instep, while the vertical branding gives it a distinct look. It arrives in a special edition box that reinforces the technical, experimental theme. This slipper is a piece of footwear engineering for your downtime.
Releasing: 8th January
PUMA just turned a Formula 1 staple into something you’d see at a gallery opening in Shoreditch. The Speedcat Ballet takes the low profile racing silhouette and merges it with a traditional dance flat. This upcoming model uses pony hair and a scattered deer print to add a touch of high fashion luxury to the tarmac.
The design replaces standard laces with four elastic straps that wrap the midfoot, mimicking the look of pointe shoes. Beneath the "Doelette" upper, a gum rubber sole retains the classic tyre tread pattern for a bit of grip. With an Ortholite sockliner inside, it offers a lot more comfort than your average ballet pump. It’s a wild crossover that shouldn't work, but it absolutely delivers on every level.
Releasing: 9th January
Veneda Carter is currently the most influential stylist in the game, and her latest Nike collab proves why. This "Racer Blue" Air Max Muse features a "retro futuristic" look that's dominating the city right now. It features exaggerated proportions and chunky foam that scream Y2K energy.
The blue mesh upper is encased in synthetic overlays, offering a layered look that catches the light perfectly. Speaking of light, the reflective panels on the forefoot are a shout out to anyone who spends their nights out with friends. Finished with co branded labels and a visible Max Air unit that provides a responsive ride, this women’s exclusive sneaker is set to turn heads.
Releasing: 22nd January
If you missed out on the high heat Travis Scott drops, this Air Jordan 1 Low OG is the perfect consolation prize; and honestly, it might be more wearable. Jordan Brand is sticking to the original 1985 cut, giving us those "Medium Olive" nubuck overlays that look better the more you scuff them up.
The white leather base keeps things clean, while the oversized black Swoosh provides a heavy contrast. It uses a sail midsole to nail that preaged aesthetic without looking forced. With the Wings logo stitched on the heel and Nike Air branding on the tongue, it’s a heritage heavy release. This is the kind of effortless pair that stays in your rotation for years to come.
Releasing: 31st January
adidas is bringing back the magic of the 2008 aZX project, and the "Blue Yellow" edition is a total nostalgia trip. Originally a hyper limited drop for a handful of global boutiques, this Consortium release finally puts a grail within reach. The light blue mesh and suede upper is a direct throwback to late 80s running DNA.
The 3M reflective 3 Stripes ensure you’re seen in the dark, while the purple lining adds a pop of secondary colour. It wouldn't be a ZX 8000 without the signature Torsion bar in the midfoot, providing the stability that made the line famous. It’s a technical runner that looks just as sharp with a pair of wide leg trousers today as it did decades ago.
Releasing: 27th January
The second half of the aZX tribute flips the script with a vibrant yellow suede construction. This pair honours the legendary designers Jacques Chassaing and Markus Thaler, the minds behind the Torsion revolution. The yellow upper is broken up by silver reflective hits on the toe and heel, making the shoe glow under a camera flash.
Instead of the designers' portraits found on the 2008 original, the tongue now features the classic Trefoil logo. A bright blue EVA midsole offers a cushioned landing, while the golden Torsion bar peeks out from the outsole for added arch support. It’s a loud, unapologetic celebration of footwear engineering that reminds us why the ZX series still has a massive cult following.
