After what has been a long and tumultuous saga, it looks like adidas’ Yeezy range is finally coming to an end. Following the Three Stripe brand officially ending their partnership with Ye (Kanye West) in October 2022, they were left with a substantial inventory of unsold products estimated to be worth $1.3 billion. Whilst initially holding onto this inventory, adidas announced their intention to sell the remaining stock in May 2023 and have since gradually released some top sellers including Yeezy Slides and Boost 700 restocks. However, it looks like this rollout is finally coming to an end with one final bang.
Last night several sneaker leak sources claimed to have acquired an adidas internal document which detailed the plans for one final Yeezy sneaker release. Allegedly beginning on May 27th or June 3rd depending on the source, the release rollout would see anywhere between 20-50 drops happening over a period of two weeks before coming to a close on June 13th. There were some contrasting facts on the exact figures, however every source was in agreement that this was set to be the final release of adidas x Yeezy products.
Twitter user @brandon1an provided an update just hours after the initial news had broken, alleging that this rollout had been removed from all adidas calendars. This was after a full list of the expected releases was leaked, so it is unclear whether this means the release is cancelled or whether adidas wanted to be extra cautious and remove any potential for further leaks.
If the alleged product list is accurate, it looks like this release was set to be a true last dance for the Yeezy range with some big releases. Whilst there were some drops we expected to see such as Yeezy 500s and Foam Runners which had restocked earlier this year, there were also some shoes we did not expect to see on this list at all. The OG Yeezy 350 “Turtle Dove” and “Pirate Black” made appearances on the leaked list, as did the Boost 700 “Wave Runner” and even the classic Yeezy Powerphase. With just shy of 10 years worth of releases, it looks like there were plenty of options to choose from with this final release.
While all of this information is subject to change (including leaked SKUs and products), it does look like adidas may be gearing up for their final ever Yeezy release. With this partnership making such a huge impact on sneaker history, we expect this final drop to be more in-demand than ever.
