Nike’s iconic 1996 sneaker, the Air More Uptempo, is pretty well known for its bold and unapologetic branding. Reportedly inspired by graffiti artists and pop art, the Uptempo was one of the defining shoes of the 90s, but its chunky details weren’t just for show. The “AIR” wordmark is a clever way of masking its bulky upper, which allowed for more support to be built into the sneaker – the epitome of form and function! This Nike Air More Uptempo “Copy Paste,” however takes the design element to the next level, with chunky letters and oversized Swooshes decorating the upper, resulting in some seriously bold sneakers.
Following on from the similarly toned Air Force 1 from the same series, the “Copy Paste” Uptempo comes done up in a monotone make-up for ultimate wearability. An all-white leather upper dresses the shoe, with the Uptempo style’s signature “AIR” wording appearing in the same shade across the sidewalls. An oversized, patent black Nike Swoosh sits tacked on top of the “AIR” branding – a feature of the “Copy Paste” theme.
Elsewhere, Nike branding also appears in the form of an embroidered black Swoosh on the forefoot and tongue, a black jelly Swoosh at the heel, and another tacked-on patch on the medial walls. The “Copy Paste” Air More Uptempo comes finished with a mesh tongue, white and black flecked laces, and a translucent outsole underneath the visible Air supports.
We’re yet to hear of a release date for the “Copy Paste” Nike Air More Uptempo, but our sources say it should be dropping sometime within the next few months. Until then, be sure to download our app and turn those release reminders on to stay up to date with all the latest drops!
