A few weeks ago, renowned New Balance collaborator Salehe Bembury treated us to some obscure images on Instagram of his upcoming project with the Boston footwear powerhouse. And today, the American footwear designer has followed that up with close-up shots of the Salehe Bembury x New Balance 574 "Yurt", making it the duo's fourth offering together.
Quite the opposite of the pair's brightly-tinged New Balance 2002R "Peace Be The Journey" and "Water Be The Guide", this new take on the label's trail-turned-lifestyle shoes sport a subdued makeup of grey tones.
The retro-inspired model then indulges in fuzzy suede coating rather than buttery smooth slabs like the ones found on the New Balance 99x series—a possible nod to Bembury's love for rough outdoor terrain. Breathable mesh underlays are also included in the mix, ensuring that optimal airflow is present. You might think traditional New Balance branding details round off this covetable Salehe Bembury New Balance 574 collab but the award-winning features are the whistle-like piece on the heel area and the ABZORB midsole tooling beneath the feet, exposing visible units of the in-house cushioning technology.
