In recent years, there has been a boom in the number of brands looking to reduce their carbon footprint and further put eco-friendly practices into place, and it seems high-fashion groups have been no stranger to this either. With all that said, you might be surprised to learn that Moncler has now been named one of the world's most sustainable brands for the third year in a row.
The announcement comes as part of the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment 2021. This assessment measures companies on a wide range of industry-specific economic, environmental and social criteria to grade brands on their performance.
After rolling out its "Born to Protect" sustainability plan in 2020, Moncler has made a direct effort to further better its supply chain and sustainability performance and in turn, the brand scored the highest marks in the criteria of textiles, apparel and luxury goods.
While you can argue Moncler has flawed sustainability due to its use of down and fur in its products, the brand is actively looking for new ways to further benefit the environment as time progresses. Could we eventually see Moncler go the same route as Canada Goose and drop the fur completely? In other news, embrace timeless Americana styling with this Dickies "The Great Outdoors" collection.
