Step Up Your Sneaker Game With These Upcoming Nike Air Max 1 Releases
It’s been a big year for the Air Max 1, what with the Swoosh reviving its OG tooling and a selection of top tier colourways. Whether it was a three-way collaboration between itself, LeBron and Liverpool F.C, or the “Timeless” edition adding a strap to the silhouette for the first time ever, the AM1 has not had a chance to slow down the pace in 2023.
With the success of the Air Max Day’s “Big Bubble” release, it was obvious that both sneakerheads and casual footwear fans were still eager for more Swoosh-based storytelling. Even if you did catch an L on Air Max Day, there’s no need to worry, because the Air Max 1 release calendar for the rest of the year is looking stronger than ever!
Nike Air Max 1 87 Corduroy Tiger Leopard
First up is the “Corduroy Tiger Leopard”, a pair that certainly isn’t holding back with its material selection - we wouldn’t be surprised if these were a lost sample that came out of Concepts’ wild three-shoe capsule in 2022. Next, is the “Timeless” edition, which may not seem all that crazy at first, that is until you realise ‘what on earth is a strap doing on an Air Max 1!’.
On the other hand, you’ve got the upcoming “Keep Rippin Stop Slippin” iteration that arrives in a more familiar make-up. Channelling the Air Safari OG colour palette, this is a retro of the 2008 pair that we saw featured among the “Greatest Hits” pack, so you can be sure that these are already on the list of serious AM1 collectors out there. Speaking of retros, the “Urawa” sequel is the closest thing we’ve had to the original 2004 Japanese exclusive, with recent images sending a huge buzz within the OG Nike communities.
Last but definitely not least is the “Premium Denim Leopard” iteration which somehow manages to tastefully combine denim with an assortment of animal prints. Don’t get us started on the heavy rope laces and KAWS-esque stitch detailing, this pair is certainly one to look out for!
