When it comes to the world of sneakers, the last ten years has been nothing but amazing. While everything else in the world has pretty much gone downhill, this industry is as resilient as ever, introducing thousands of incredible new silhouettes and hundreds of high heat collaborations that are sure to go down in the history books.
In just a decade, pretty much everyone has become interested in sneakers in some form or another, and we're not at all surprised. A ride that's both exhilarating and frightening at the same time, we don't know when or where the hype train stops, but what we do know is that we're having a pretty good time and so is everyone else.
With that said, these are the twenty most valuable sneakers of the entire decade. It's beyond easy for us to just list a score of ultra limited sneakers, so instead, we wanted to showcase twenty shoes that were actually available to the public when they dropped, so from least to most valuable, let's get to it!
Off-White x Nike Air Max 90 "Sail"
Part of the original "THE TEN" collection that arguably changed the industry as we knew it, the Off-White x Nike Air Max 90 "Sail" hit shelves on September 2017, and even to this day, it's worth £700. With its clean white and grey suede construction and icy blue Air midsole, this is one of the most versatile numbers from Virgil Abloh's original range.
Sean Wotherspoon x Nike Air Max 97/1 "Light Blue Fury"
Hands down one of the hottest collabs of the entire decade, if not the hottest one altogether, the Round Two co-founder took the world by storm when he unwrapped the Sean Wotherspoon x Nike Air Max 97/1 "Light Blue Fury" in November 2017. Inspired by thrift shops, if you want a pair you'll have to spend £700 of your hard earned cash, and this won't be going down anytime soon.
Yeezy Boost 350 V2 "Synth Reflective"
Surprisingly the only 350 V2 on this list, the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 "Synth Reflective" is every Kanye West enthusiast's dream. While the normal "Synth" was already pretty limited due to it being available only in Asia, the RF version is even more exclusive, so when they dropped on June 2019, resale quickly shot up to £720 a pop, and we're not at all surprised.
Yeezy Boost 350 "Turtle Dove"
Arguably the one that started it all, the Yeezy Boost 350 "Turtle Dove" graced our collections on June 2015. First seen on Kanye West and his models during his Yeezy Season 1 fashion show, it was later awarded Shoe Of The Year at the Footwear News 29th Annual Achievement Awards. There's no wonder then that a brand new pair will cost you £740.
Off-White x Nike Blazer Mid "White"
Just what is there not to love about the Off-White x Nike Blazer Mid "White"? One of the OG "THE TEN" sneakers, Virgil Abloh gave the classic silhouette his deconstructed rework on September 2017, and it became a must-have pretty much straight away. Now, almost four years later, you'd still have to spend £770 if you want a box-fresh pair.
Pharrell x adidas NMD Hu "EQT Yellow"
Skateboard P completely transformed the game when he debuted the Pharrell x adidas NMD Hu "EQT Yellow" in July 2016. While this line of shoes has pretty much run its course over the past one or two years, this colourway will always remain an icon in our eyes. If you want a pair, they're valued at £830, so they definitely aren't cheap.
KAWS x Air Jordan 4 "Cool Grey"
When Brian Donnelly lent his artistic mind to Jumpman on March 2017, the industry pretty much lost its mind. Decked out in full suede with a glow-in-the-dark Air midsole, this £840 pair of sneakers blurred the line between art and streetwear, and it's definitely one of the most legendary collabs of the past twenty years.
Yeezy Boost 750 "Light Brown"
What you're looking at right now is the Yeezy that started it all. The first Kanye West x adidas sneaker ever made, the Yeezy Boost 750 "Light Brown" was unlike anything we had seen before. First worn by Ye himself during the Grammys, they later dropped on February 2015 to much fanfare. Extremely rare, if you want a pair right now you'd be looking at a £940 price tag.
Off-White x Nike Air Presto "Black"
On September 2017, the line between classic and contemporary was blurred forever with the introduction of the Off-White x Nike Air Presto "Black". One of the highlights of Virgil Abloh's legendary "THE TEN" collection, this has got to be one of the most iconic sneakers in history, so if you want a pair, be prepared to pay in excess of £1,050 for a pair. Any less then it's probably too good to be true.
Y-3 Runner 4D "White"
One of two Futurecraft 4D sneakers to make it to this list, the Y-3 Runner 4D "White" is the brainchild of visionary Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto. First spotted on the runways of Paris Fashion Week in 2018, each pair sits atop a 3D-printed midsole and comes individually numbered. If you managed to cop in February 2018, you'd be happy to know that they're valued at a cool £1,160.
Invincible x adidas Futurecraft 4D "Prism"
The second 4D shoe to make it to this list, the Invincible x adidas Futurecraft 4D "Prism" released as part of the four collab Futurecraft collection on April 2018, where adidas also teamed up with Footpatrol, KITH, and SNS for the ultimate collection. Exclusive to Asia, it should come as to no surprise that one pair will set you back £1,170.
Off-White x Air Jordan 1 "White"
While the Off-White x Air Jordan 1 "White" isn't part of the original "THE TEN" release, it's still valued at a whopping £1,510, and this price is only going up and up as the days go on. Originally released on March 2018 to everyone's surprise, the clean white makeup allowed Virgil Abloh's deconstructed aesthetic to shine through in all it's glory.
fragment design x Air Jordan 1 "Sport Blue"
Of course, you can't have this list without mentioning the legendary fragment design x Air Jordan 1 "Sport Blue". An absolute icon that made its debut on December 2014, Hiroshi Fujiwara's take on the AJ1 completely transformed the game, and it continues to do so even to this day. If you want a pair, make sure you have £1,530 in your bank account.
Prada x adidas Superstar "White"
The Prada x adidas Superstar "White" is pretty controversial. One of the newer shoes on this list, they dropped in extremely limited quantities of 700 on December 2019. At £1,810, not only is this under the retail price of £2,345, many sneakerheads have called the design and collab as a whole lazy and uninspired. We'll leave this for you to decide.
Off-White x Air Jordan 1 "Chicago"
Without a shadow of a doubt, the Off-White x Air Jordan 1 "Chicago" is definitely the highlight of the original "THE TEN" collection. Taking the AJ1 and giving it a fully deconstructed makeover, this shoe was on everyone's to cop lists in September 2017. Even almost three years later, paying £1,870 for a pair is seen as pretty good value.
VLONE x Nike Air Force 1 "Black"
A shoe shrouded with controversy, the VLONE x Nike Air Force 1 "Black" was made in collaboration with ASAP Bari back in February 2017. Right after its debut, the ASAP Mob Co-Founder was sued for sexual assault, with the Swoosh swiftly cutting ties ASAP. With that said, a pair of these will still set you back £1,970 if you're lucky.
Nike Air Yeezy 2 "Pure Platinum"
On June 2012, Kanye West teamed up with the Swoosh to unveil the Nike Air Yeezy 2 "Pure Platinum". An absolute icon, this is the shoe that others aspire to be, and we're not surprised at all. With an ultra premium construction and a glow-in-the-dark Air midsole, this sneaker was made for the history books, and it'll cost you £2,100 of your hard earned cash.
Tom Sachs x Nike Mars Yard 1.0 "Space Camp"
With the Mars Yard 3.0 allegedly dropping in 2020, it's fitting that the Tom Sachs x Nike Mars Yard 1.0 "Space Camp" continues to be one of the most valuable sneakers of the entire decade. Made with the help of the New York-based contemporary artist on May 2012, everything about this release is out of this world, including the £2,290 price tag that comes with it.
CLOT x Air Jordan 1 "Black"
A surprising addition to the list, the CLOT x Air Jordan 1 "Black" made its debut this year in November 2019, and it's as stealthy as it gets. The brainchild of Hong Kong multi hyphenate Edison Chen, the entire upper is made from a luxurious silk that slowly but surely wears away over time, just like your bank account when you splash £2,400 on a pair of these.
Nike Air Yeezy 2 "Red October"
And last but not least, we have February 2014's Nike Air Yeezy 2 "Red October". While all-red sneakers are somewhat outdated these days, this Kanye West x Nike collab will never be. Dipped in a bold colour palette, luxe gold accents feature throughout the shoe, while a rubberised midfoot strap offer the ultimate lockdown fit. Want a pair? Then be prepared to pay an eye-watering £3,730.
