When it comes to Jordan 1 colourways, few are as iconic as the “Bred.” Also known as the “Banned,” it was rumoured that whenever Jordan wore these on the court, he received a fine for breaking the NBA’s uniform rules. The rumours also said that whenever this happened, Nike were happy to foot the bill. Since then, the infamous colourway has cemented itself as an important part of sneaker history, and we’ve seen many twists on the colour palette ever since. The latest Air Jordan 1 Mid "Bred" adopts a new take on the classic colourway, and it's looking like the pair will come in both adult's and grade-school sizing.
In case you weren’t quite aware of where the term “Bred” came from, Jordan Brand are here to explain. Put plainly, it refers to the black and red colour blocking seen on the style, and this is quite literally spelled out all over the sides of the sneakers. A full leather build sees a black base taken over with a red toe box, heel, ankle flaps, and Nike Swoosh, whilst an all-over gloss print spells out the colour atop the corresponding panels. And, if you needed it to be made any clearer, “Black + Red = Bred” is stamped on the white midsole.
Right now, there’s no release date for the “Bred” Air Jordan 1 Mid, and only a few early images circling on social media. If these are on your must-cop list, be sure to keep it locked for more info as it comes in, and we’ll be the first to let you know.
