When New Balance introduced their cult-classic 2002R silhouette in 2020, a few prominent names in the industry gladly took on the silhouette for a makeover. One of those is Salehe Bembury, an American shoe designer recognised for his luxe approach to streetwear style and most especially, the vice president of Versace's footwear line. Following the release of his New Balance 2002R "Peace Be The Journey" last year, which featured a burnt orange colour arrangement, we finally have a closer look at the official images of the Salehe Bembury x New Balance 2002R "Water Be The Guide" colourway.
While the first collaborative iteration pulled inspiration from outdoor landscapes, the Antelope Canyon to be specific, the "Water Be The Guide" is submerged in aquatic accents instead.

The shaggy suede panels and synthetic leather trims alternate in hues of "Aqua Teal", paired with "Coral Pink" marking the diamond cut mesh nettings, predominantly forefoot. Hits of "Rust Orange" also dive into this New Balance 2002R's ensemble, landing on New Balance's branded segments, notably the lateral heel, tongue, and lower throat. A "Seaweed Green" colourway fills in the sidewall's "N" logo which is outlined by "Neon Green" that also shades the fingerprint-reminiscent rear cutouts. The co-branded design is rounded off with speckles of orange splashed across a white N-rgy midsole.
