First unveiled in the traditional "Grey" colouring by Aimé Leon Dore's Teddy Santis back in June 2021, the sixth edition of New Balance's highly popular 990 silhouette will see another colourway released soon. Introducing, the New Balance 990v6 "Navy".
Originally making its debut back in 1982, New Balance have reworked the 990 many times. If you've not taken a close look at version six before, then see that it borrows features from the ever-popular 992 and remains constructed from a mix of mesh and pigskin suede in the titular hue. This premium feel is continued on the silver accents that dress selected leather overlays and the large 'N' logo on the medial and lateral sidewalls. 990 branding appears embossed into the suede at the rear of the sneaker, meanwhile the retro branding at the top of the tongue appears in its usual format. All done up with a grey lace unit, this chunky dad sneaker really takes the 'worn by supermodels in London and dads in Ohio' label to the limit.
One of our favourite versions to date, the 990v6 will elevate any outfit and give it that sought-after retro feeling that's having a bit of a moment right now. As well as being ultra stylish (without meaning to?), the New Balance 990v6 guarantees comfort, like all of these silhouettes, thanks to the ENCAP technology concealed in the midsole.
We don't currently have a release date for the New Balance 990v6 "Navy", but keep it locked to The Sole Supplier as we'll be the first to let you know when and where it's dropping when the time comes.
