The 3-Stripes celebrates the late South Korean artist Kim Jung Gi with this edition of its Campus 80s. Done in collaboration with the highly respected Korean streetwear store Kasina, the shoe allows you to appreciate Jung Gi’s magnificent artwork through a totally new medium. The featured art breathes a whole new lease of life onto the Campus 80s, giving you even more reason to pick up this heritage silhouette!
The upper is sat atop a sail herringbone midsole, with a hazy yellow nubuck contrasting the set of black stripes that plays into the tiger motif. Featured on the lateral quarter is a young female character holding on to the tiger’s tail, all drawn in Kim Jung Gi’s signature style. The custom insoles also detail more tiger-themed art, with the letters “adidas” and “Kasina” wrapped around the predator’s body. On the heel tab, a traditional Trefoil logo is given a sketched aesthetic, with the shadowy figure of a girl on the other foot. The pair also arrives with a limited edition box, with the artists’ sprawling artwork featured on top that once again depicts the relationship between the girl and tiger.
If you’re a fan of Kim Jung Gi or the Campus silhouette then this is a must-have for the collection. The Kasina x Kim Jung Gi x adidas Campus 80s “Korean Tiger” will be dropping on March 17th via the adidas CONFIRMED app and raffled off through select retailers. Make sure to tune into The Sole Supplier for more information on how to pick up your pair!
