The ASICS GT-2160 undergoes a futuristic design overhaul in this project by Kiko Kostadinov and the SportStyle development team. Dubbed “Curation Models”, the theme focuses on design elements like Interlaced Assemblages, Functional Utopias, and Mino Ceramics to rejig the retro runner’s aesthetic whilst maintaining its original structure. Dropping alongside the “Dark Neptune Silver”, this ASICS UB7-S GT-2160 “Lava Orange” sports a vibrant colour scheme reminiscent of the New York Knicks’ signature colours.

Donning a multilayered upper, this retro trainer features a light blue diamond mesh base with off-white leather and dark blue synthetic overlays. Verdant green accents envelop the signature Tiger Stripes on the sidewalls for a pop of colour, complementing the brand labels on the lateral rear and heel panel. The asymmetrical pull tab ushers in a utilitarian-inspired approach, highlighted with a blue zig-zag pattern for added style. Bright orange hues engulf the EVA midsole and exposed GEL technology, propped up by a gradient-clad TRUSSTIC plate and segmented rubber outsole.
