New Balance 1906R Sprite

Following the emergence of the “Volt” colourway, the popular Y2K-inspired lifestyle shoe from New Balance surfaces in another volt-accented rendition. The New Balance 1906R remains popular, just like its NB 2002R. Both models often appear in collaborations and have their respective “Protective Pack” colourways. This New Balance 1906R “Sprite” freshens up with a soda-inspired makeover headlined by blue and volt tones.

The dad shoe and retro running footwear trends have dominated the sneaker landscape, and New Balance takes advantage of them. While the New Balance 1906R takes inspiration from the early 2000s running shoes, its base model, the NB 1906, first came out in 2009. This rendition features a blue breathable mesh construction with metallic silver overlays to reinforce the lightweight upper structure. Black accents adorn the N logos on the sides, lining, and rigid heel counter to contrast the bright colours. Sprite-inspired volt pigments appear on the NB branding on the tongue and heel, plus the forefoot and heel midsole portions for that vibrant flair. Rounding out this modern-day NB 1906R colourway is the sail white midsole and black rubber outsole.
