Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 550 PS Red

With the abundance of new general release colourways, Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance re-released the four colourways that led to the resurgence of the New Balance 550 in 2020. However, all pairs arrived exclusively in preschool and toddler sizing. This Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 550 PS “Red” returns true to form as the 2020 version, draped in a vintage-inspired sail white base with red and black accents.

New Balance certainly made a statement when it relaunched its basketball division in 2018. Looking back on its hoops heritage, Aimé Leon Dore founder Teddy Santis helped the brand revive one of its classic ‘80s basketball silhouettes in 2020, the NB 550. This preschool colourway boasts a sail white leather upper, with red hues decorating the edges on the forefoot and covering the lining, heel counter, and the cracked leather “N” logo. Black pigments encompassing the collar and outsole add emphasis to the old-school theme. Co-branded labels adorn the tongue and heel, distinguishing the collab from regular pairs.
