Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 550 Toddler Blue

The New Balance 550 was a bit of a misfit when it was first introduced in the 1980s. At that time, high-cut models were the rage in basketball. Thirty-one years later, Teddy Santis of Aimé Leon Dore fame rescued it from the archives and it became a hit in 2020. Thinking of a retro “It” shoe for your toddler? This NB 550 features the famed puffed-up “N” logos in navy blue with a black outline and a scuffed-up treatment on the flanks. However, instead of the lacing system that’s found on the adult version, the shoe has an easy-to-pull-on and pull-off hook-and-loop closure. The rest of the shoe is plain white in premium leather with perforations on the mid-panels. A yellowed-out midsole and a navy blue rubber outsole finish off the entire ensemble.
