Nike’s outdoor-geared subdivision has stirred up interest in the sneakerhead community with its latest rendering, the ACG Watercat+. Dial your time machine back to 2006 and you could actually find the original pair on the shelves, then titled the Nike Considered ACG Water Cat. The Considered Project and Water Cat in particular, proved you could create beautiful footwear with minimal waste. While the ACG Watercat+ is more a contemporary remix rather than a 1-to-1 retro, it still evokes the same spirit.
The shoe is built with the hotter months in mind, its predominantly rope upper weaving between an exoskeleton to form a tight-knit bond around your foot. You can wade upriver or skim stones on the edges of a lake without a moment’s thought as the Watercat+ brings you closer to nature. The rope construction and drainage holes are features that form a perfectly amphibious shoe, meaning these function just as well in the wet as it does on dry land. The hits of ACG branding and playful purple palette are an eye-catching combination that indicates all the future fun you could have in the Watercat+.
While the ACG Watercat+ has yet to receive an official drop date, you can expect to see this “Court Purple” edition hitting the shelves in time for all your summer-based fit pics. Tune into The Sole Supplier where we can keep you updated with all the latest news and info on this release!
