After the rumoured return of the legendary "Galaxy" Foamposite, another popular colourway gets set for a comeback. Set the old-school trend in the Nike Air Foamposite One “Eggplant”.
The Nike Air Foamposite One is arguably the biggest non-Air Jordan sneaker in the past two decades. Penny Hardaway’s signature basketball shoe from 1997 became the centre of all the hype in 2012. It caused riots due to the debut of the "Galaxy" colourway. The Foamposite One was inspired by a beetle’s hard shell and aerodynamics. It features a seamless foamposite material made of polyurethane liquid formed into moulds under immense heat. The shoe also features a full-length Zoom Air unit with another Zoom unit doubled-stacked in the heel. A carbon fibre plate provides torsional support for basketball. This colourway features a purple Foamposite upper that brings iridescent details into effect. More purple accents adorn the mini Swoosh and 1-Cent logo on the tongue and heel. An icy translucent rubber outsole caps off this futuristic design.
This release marks the third time the “Eggplant” rendition came back. It debuted in 2009 and returned in 2017.
