Creative director and 1017 ALYX 9SM founder Matthew M Williams joins Nike to reimagine the brand’s maximalist trainers. The capsule pays homage to treadmill runners who serve as testers to help brands optimise and develop running shoes via the Swoosh’s sports research lab. Designed for road running adventures, the Matthew M Williams x Nike Zoom MMW 6 TRD Run “Enigma Stone” arrives in a prototype-inspired makeover, clad in a monotone colour scheme to keep the design as discreet as possible.

This colourway boasts a greyscale AtomKnit upper with fuse overlays reinforcing the toe, eyestays, and rear. Minimalist MMW branding decorates the tongue, while a subtle reverse Swoosh adorns the lateral rear section of the midsole. Underfoot lies a thick React foam compound which houses rigid, full-length carbon fibre plates offering a high level of stability and support. An exposed Zoom Air unit in the forefoot provides a propulsive sensation to boost your step. Waffle treads on the rubber outsole pay homage to Bill Bowerman’s sole design produced with the help of his wife’s waffle iron.
