Originally released almost five decades ago back in 1972, this silhouette was the first “modern” running shoe designed by Olympic track coach and Nike co-founder, Bill Bowerman. Revived in its original colour scheme, whether you are a sneaker enthusiast or not, we are positive that you have seen this particular palette at least once in your lifetime, and here’s what you need to know!
A cultural icon, the Cortez White Red features a leather and synthetic leather construction for added durability. Painted in a predominantly white hue, red and blue accents also make an appearance for a retro aesthetic. Down below, you’ll find a foam sole for lightweight cushioning – the exact same design as the version that dropped back in the early ’70s – and this is lined with a rubber outsole with a herringbone pattern for traction with every step. To round it all off, “Nike” branding graces the tongue and heel, complete the design of this timeless masterpiece.
