Even though it is not as hyped as it once was, the Reebok Instapump Fury OG Utility Green is back and ready to go. A cult classic amongst sneakerheads both old and new, it made its grand debut back in 1988 and has remained pretty much unchanged since - a testament to just how timeless the design is. Most popular over in Asia especially in sprawling metropolises such as Hong Kong and Tokyo, this is a pair that you definitely do not want to miss.
The brainchild of legendary sneaker designer Steven Smith, the Utility Green builds in top of a breathable mesh base that's split between white and black across the front and back respectively. Overlaid by geometric leather panelling throughout, you'll find the silhouette's signature Instapump lacing system across the top. To operate it, all you need to do is turn the notch and the shoe will tighten or loosen smoothly.
Why no other shoe has implemented this system is beyond explanation, but the intricate mechanism continues to lead the industry even after three decades. Down below, you'll find an extra chunky Hexalite midsole, and to round it all off, pull tabs at the tongue and heel offer up a utilitarian aesthetic that's all the rage these days.
What's there not to love about the Reebok Classic Instapump Fury OG Chalk Utility Green? While it certainly isn't for everyone, you can't help but to appreciate the artistry behind the model.
