In a notable first step in the long-term partnership between Jordan Brand and Howard University, Nike are set to release the Air Jordan 1 Low OG "Howard University" this weekend. Despite initial reports that this release would mirror the Howard Bison's Player-Exclusive model, it looks like we're set to instead see a brand-new colourway with some unique detailing including a mini swoosh on the toe-box. Set to drop October 12th, take a closer look at the AJ1 "Howard University" below.
The “Howard University” version of the Air Jordan 1 Low OG is a fresh pair of sneakers that pays homage to the university's colours. It features an Off White leather upper, Navy overlays on the forefoot and Swooshes, plus a pop of Red accents around the heel that matches the embroidered mini Swoosh on the toe. You also get the classic Wings logo at the back, giving a nod to MJ due to his role in securing the partnership between Jordan Brand and Howard University.
Alongside the sneaker, Jordan are also set to release an apparel collection. From early leaked imagery it looks like this collection will feature a branded hoodie and sweatpants to pair with the shoe, but further news on release date and pricing of these is yet to be confirmed.
Already drawing comparisons with the Union x Jordan 1 High Blue, this release looks set to be a big one.
