With the confirmation of the Stash x Nike Air Max 95 set to release next month, official photos have emerged of another exciting collaboration from the Brooklyn based graffiti artist. The Stash x Nike Air Force 1 Low is making a comeback this holiday season, potentially featuring new materials for improved waterproofing.
Stash, who gained prominence as a graffiti artist with his first gallery exhibit at just 17, became a key figure in streetwear collaborations during the '90s. He debuted his first Nike sneaker, the Air Force 1 High, in 2003.
While perhaps not as legendary as the Wu-Tang Dunk or the upcoming Undefeated Jordan 4, each Stash x Nike project evokes nostalgia for the early 2000s when collaborations were just starting to take off. Known for his work on the Air Max BW and Air Max 95, Stash has had a hand in shaping today’s collaboration heavy footwear industry.
The upcoming Stash x Air Force 1 retains the signature bluescale palette of its predecessors and all Stash x Nike designs, but with altered materials. The toe box features a TPU layer along the edge, and the light blue nylon underlay boasts a new tactile finish. Graffiti inspired Stash branding replaces the traditional "Nike" text on the tongue, a reference to the 2006 release.
Although the Stash x Nike Air Force 1 Low retail price or release date hasn't been confirmed, it's expected to drop soon via the SNKRS app and select retailers.
