The Nike Air Max BW "Persian Violet" is arguably one of the most iconic sneakers ever made. A cult favourite among Air Max lovers, this colourway was originally released back in 1991 and is making a comeback 30 years later in all its glory. Designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield, the BW actually stands for Big Window, and while it definitely isn't as hyped as models such as the Air Max 1 and the Air Max 90, it's certainly worth celebrating.
That's why Footshop has gone all out for the pair's launch. With its imminent return slated for later in the month, the European retailer has unveiled a special project that looks back at the cultural imprint that the Air Max BW created within the past three decades, not only in the sneaker game, but also in the music industry and art world.
The concept of the project was to invite talented local individuals into a space that contains two white cubes - each for one music genre - and let them influence each other in the creative process. These rooms were covered in artworks and each room was then cut into four distinctive art pieces that will be auctioned off with 100% of the proceeds going to the non-profit organisation Charita dětem. This charity works with disadvantaged youths and provides them with a means to explore their musical interests, talents, and ambitions.
Footshop's Nike Air Max BW "Persian Violet" project will be displayed in the gallery space that is connected to Footshop's Prague Vnitroblock store. Make sure you enter their raffle using the "Raffle" buttons across this page before the shoe's drop on September 24th, and while you're here, you might as well take a closer look at the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 "Monarch"!
