Having just released its Great Outdoors-inspired Nomad Pack last September, Mizuno looks to continue on its upward trajectory with this latest launch. Entitled the Kintsugi Pack, this latest offering looks to highlight the brand's distinctive Japanese heritage and celebrate the craftsmanship and philosophy behind it.
Founded with the ideology of embracing imperfections, Japan's Kintsugi art dates back to the late 16th and early 17th century as craftsmen would look to repair broken pottery using lacquer, either dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver or platinum.
Embracing these same principles, Mizuno has selected its Wave Rider 10 and Contender silhouettes as the key features in this collection. Both sneakers readily embody a material contrast, alternating between quality suede uppers atop a mesh base. Embracing the Kinsugi art, the Runbird logo decorates the lateral wall of both additions, punctuated by a thin yellow line representing the golden junctures of the ancient Japanese technique.
To support the inspiration behind the design, both models are outfitted with Kintsugi artwork, placed on the tongue of the shoes. For those looking to get their hands on Mizuno's Kintsugi pack, you can find it online from Friday, the of 3rd November, at retailers such as Footpatrol and END.
Up next, SOPHNET. dresses the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 in a "Soft Navy" hue.
