It’s fair to say that things in the sneaker world have felt pretty turbulent lately, but between Kasper Rorsted leaving adidas and Kanye West calling for board membership (or his own sneaker company), it seems that things are starting to settle elsewhere: namely at Reebok, which has now announced its new CEO. Todd Krinsky is now set to succeed Matt O’Toole as the head of the sportswear company, in a move that will no doubt disappoint some Ye fans, but will definitely afford Reebok a more stable future.
Having been with the brand for more than 30 years, Krinsky started selling shoes at age 16 before securing himself a job in the Reebok mailroom. He then managed to work his way through the ranks, having spent 10 years on the senior leadership team before taking on the SVP role, where he helped to grow the Reebok Classics business.
Speaking on his new role, Krinsky said: “I am excited to step into my new role as CEO of a brand and business that I have had the honor of building and growing for over three decades. When I walked through the doors on my first day as a Reebok intern, I was immediately awestruck by the brand’s dedication to innovation and authenticity. I look forward to working with the entire Reebok team to unleash the full potential of Reebok worldwide.”
O’Toole will continue to aid the brand during the transition period, and from there will join Reebok’s parent company, Authentic Brands as Executive Vice Chairman in 2023.
In related sneaker news, PUMA has joined forces with Skepta on a new project.
