Back in May, Balenciaga shocked the world by officially unveiling their collaboration with adidas. Showcased at the Parisian fashion house's first-ever New York runway show, we caught a brief glimpse of the capsule all the way back in March. However, during that time, nobody really believed that the rumours were true. Considering adidas' ongoing projects with Prada and Gucci, it's crazy to think that they had a third high fashion partnership up their sleeve all this time. Not only that, as soon as the collab was officially unveiled New York Stock Exchange-inspired runway, it dropped on the label's website.
Featuring a wide range of men's and women's ready-to-wear, sneakers, bags, jewellery, and accessories, the collection is infused with Demna Gvasalia's signature grungy vibe. From oversized hoodies that Kanye West will definitely be rocking on the daily, to football-influenced jerseys that fall inline with the blokecore trend, the collaboration "recontextualizes elements of sportswear that have been a part of Balenciaga’s creative language."
With all that said, the highlight of the collection has got to be the trio of co-branded sneakers that were definitely unexpected. Not only will we be getting the adidas x Balenciaga Triple S in "White" and "Blue" colour options, a shock Speed Trainer also launched too. Bearing a striking resemblance to the Three Stripes' iconic Solid Crew Socks, it replaces the usual branding with lower-case Balenciaga text in white.
The Balenciaga x adidas Collection is priced from £150 all the way to £4,090 (exactly what you need during a cost of living crisis, right?) and is available now via the adidas CONFIRMED app. Expected to sell out pretty quickly, make sure you secure yours right now before it's too late.
