Sunday the 9th October marks “Hangul Day”, a commemorative holiday in South Korea that marks the invention of the nation's alphabet system. Introduced by the 15th century Korean King, Sejong the Great, the alphabet was revolutionary for Koreans as it signalled the move away from using classical Chinese symbols, which didn’t necessarily translate easily due to fundamental differences in the two languages. Nike is now honouring the special day by launching a double pack of limited-edition sneakers featuring both an Air Max 1 and an Air Max 97. The pairs are crafted from a mix of suede and leather and both feature pull-lock lacing systems, as well as mini-Swoosh detailing for a familiar touch of branding.
Sat stop of blocked-out Nike Air units, these are definitely head-turners and different from previous offerings. Currently available from Nike and other select retailers across Asia, here at The Sole Supplier we’re hoping that these kicks will see a wider global release, so keep it locked in right here for more details as they’re unveiled.
