The Nike SB Dunk Low "Paris" is one of the rarest sneakers in the world. Unveiled back in 2002, the Dunk released exclusively at the "White Dunk: Evolution of an Icon" exhibit in Paris with only 150 to 200 units made. Featuring artworks from the French expressionist artist Bernard Buffet, no two pairs are exactly the same.
Why are we telling you this? Well, earlier this week, London-based reselling store Proxyeed uploaded a screenshot to Instagram with a sale valued at £112,300. "Yesterday we sold, what I believe to be the most expensive private shoe sale ever (excluding signed or game worn Jordan’s - could be wrong, so feel free to quote me)." stated the caption. This sale turned out to be the aforementioned "Paris".

According to Proxyeed’s owner Ryan Thomas Symes, "We were negotiating with the customer on the shoe. He wanted to pay one price, we wanted him to pay another. We were quite far off, so we decided to do rock, paper, scissors for it. We won the rock, paper, scissors so he paid up."
This is an insane number considering that back in 2015 the Nike SB Dunk Low "Paris" used to sell for just £8,000 on StockX. While 8 stacks is still quite a bit of money, to think that the shoe's value would skyrocket by 1,400% six years later is truly insane. This just goes to show how much hype the skate silhouette has. Let us know how much you would buy the "Paris" for, and in related news, the Familia x Nike SB Dunk Low "First Avenue" is quite literally star-studded!
