BSTN x adidas Samba Consortium Cup White Gum

Following the successful campaign of the inaugural adidas Consortium Cup in early 2023, several participating sneaker stores in the sneaker design tournament earned the chance to release their adidas Samba entries to the public. One of the fan-favourite entries and first-round winners is the German-based streetwear fashion retailer BSTN x adidas Samba Consortium Cup “White Gum”, boasting a playful take on the OG colourway by incorporating a material update influenced by modern sneaker trends.

The adidas Consortium Cup gathered 16 sneaker stores worldwide in a competitive four-round single-elimination format. Kicking things off in the first round, the quintessential adidas Samba took centre stage as all teams utilised diverse storytelling details and premium material executions. BSTN edged Commonwealth PH in the opening matchup, with a concept revolving around “OG with a twist”. This rendition implements the timeless “White Black” colourway, clad in a clean white ballistic mesh upper and glossy patent leather T-toe overlay. Meanwhile, the black sawtooth 3-Stripes on the sides arrive in a soft nubuck fabric, and the branded eyestay flaunts rigid PVC reinforcements. A fluffy blue chenille patch with embroidered BSTN logos sits atop the neoprene tongue, while the heel showcases a custom moulded heel tab for extra durability. Remaining unaltered, the signature gum rubber sole caps off the modern-day twist on the iconic colour scheme.
