Imabari x ASICS GEL-NYC French Blue

Fujitaka, a luxury towel manufacturer based in Imabari, Japan, has just tied up with ASICS to elevate its GEL-NYC silhouette. Fujitaka uses an environmentally responsible manufacturing process for its towels, matching the same eco-friendly principles of ASICS. Check out the result of this collaboration, the Imabari x ASICS GEL-NYC “French Blue”.

This GEL-NYC has a navy blue mesh base. Leather and mesh overlays in the same tonal hue on the toe cap and bottom section of the shoe. The Tiger stripes on the lateral sides are French blue with navy blue accents. The main highlights of the shoe, though, are the laces, the exposed stitching, and the heel tabs which are all made from recycled thread and fabric scraps from Fujitaka. Co-branding in orange can be found on the insoles. A white and navy blue midsole with navy blue GEL inserts at the heel and a beige-coloured rubber outsole finishes off the whole ensemble.
