Bring Y2K aesthetics back with this eye-catching Nike Air Kukini rendition. Stand out in this Nike Air Kukini “Orange Blue”.
Nike’s Alpha Project from 1999 displayed premier footwear designs across all sports and lifestyles. The five dots indicating Alpha Project sneakers looked simple but meant so much more. Alpha Project’s releases in 2000 saw the birth of the iconic Air Presto and former NBA superstar Vince Carter’s Shox BB4. However, there was one underrated sneaker in the pack: the Air Kukini. The shoe was designed by Sean McDowell, the man behind the legendary Air Max Plus. Inspired by ski suits from the 90s, the Air Kukini comes in a plush neoprene upper with a TPU cage support system that holds the shoe from the upper to the midsole. A subtle Nike Swoosh adorns the tongue while the five dots appear on the rear. The visible Nike Air unit in the heel provides all-day comfort.
This colourway comes in an orange and blue colour combination with camo-like graphics as a nod to poison dart frogs. The TPU webbing comes in black to contrast the vibrant upper.
