The current sneaker scene is dominated by footwear silhouettes we commonly see, like the fan-favourite Nike Dunk. However, the community do appreciate new collaborative offerings. A perfect example is a forthcoming project between the luxury fashion label Palm Angels and the famous California skate label Vans.
The Palm Angels x Vans Sk8-Hi utilises the skateboarding brand's iconic high-top skate shoes from 1978, the Sk8-Hi, formerly known as Style 38. It was the first-ever Vans shoes to feature the familiar side stripe, so it only makes sense for Palm Angels founder Francesco Ragazzi and Vans to use the model to mark their first-ever collaboration.
First teased at the Palm Angels Fall/Winter 2022 runway, the covetable ensemble exhibit three contrasting tones: red, cream, and brown. The deep red colour predominantly dominates the front, while the neutral cream shade adorns the medials and brown marks the heel suede overlay. Vans' signature side stripe features Palm Angels branding details. Completing the co-branded design is a semi-translucent sole unit, palm tree pin badges over the laces, and classic Vans branding motifs.
Will the Palm Angels x Vans Sk8-Hi "Red/Cream" be part of your rotation this year? Be sure to check back here at The Sole Supplier to stay updated with our Vans release calendar. In related news, BAPE and Vans join forces once again to work on the Old Skool and Sk8-Hi.
