New Balance 550 Lunar New Year Beige

New Balance’s cult retro sneaker, the 550, is part of the brand’s Lunar New Year collection that launched in late January 2023 - just in time to wish their Asian fans a prosperous New Year.

The NB 550 has an all-premium-leather upper in the titular Beige shade from heel to toe and from base to overlays. The only exception is the light grey collar accent. The marshmallow-like “N” logos on both the medial and lateral mid-panels are cream-coloured like the laces and the sock liner. NB branding in deep garnet embellishes the Beige tongue labels and promises an auspicious new year. A cream-coloured midsole and a grey rubber outsole finish off the design of these kicks.
